Every Sunday, I have a routine that I have done for over 15 years and it has been one of the biggest factors in maximizing my productivity. First, I take 5 minutes to clear email from the previous week. Next, I go through my calendar for the last two weeks and look at all my meetings, checking for follow-up needed. Then I take out a sheet of paper and open my calendar for the coming week. I create 5 columns — one for each day. I write down everything I will do for that day, even workouts and meditation. I add in action items from my notes. Once done, I have my week planned. I wake up each day and get to work. Taking just 15 minutes to do this each week has increased my productivity to levels I never thought possible. Try it and see the difference it makes.
